Welcome to NM Brief Relief, New Mexico’s most trusted and 1st Medical & Industrial Hemp Clinic & Consulting Agency. Brief Relief’s mission began in 2010 helping those seeking to get an actual Medical Cannabis Card that was extremely difficult to obtain when the program first started. Before NM Brief Relief came on the scene patients had to go through multiple doctors appointments with most having to suffer multiple doctors to get evaluated which was not free, a lengthy application process that would consist of delivering information back and forth, which was also not free, and then you might not even qualify in the end. With no guarantee or refund, it was a nightmare for patients, to say the least. Lots of people not only didn’t et there cards but had to pay a large amount of money just to be told they were not eligible. David sought to alleviate the pain and help those seeking a healthier, happier and better quality of life.

This is when David Valdez, Founder of NM Brief Relief, in 2010 said it was enough. David witnessed 1st hand the number of people that were suffering, getting ripped off and not receiving their medical cannabis cards. If they would receive it sometimes it wouldn’t be for months and months. Or the person would just give up because of the various hoops that were necessary at the time for anyone seeking a medical cannabis card.

David’s start in helping people was a very humbling beginning. With no source of transportation (other than Public Transit) or of any type of capital, investor or the possibility of a loan from a bank, David improvised. He struck a deal with the board and owners of the Physicians office where he also convinced the Director and Doctor of his idea to help those in need with limited resources. The idea was to not have the patients pay to determine eligibility and only pay if eligible. David’s idea was he would be trained to “pre-evaluate” the patients to determine if they met the criteria for eligibility for the NM Medical Cannabis Program. That was the starting point of a career that would span a decade and change the lives of thousands of people and counting.

It was also a very slow start and with no base of operations or office for those who were seeking a card could go see David. So David would go to them. He would receive a referral from a former patient he helped or a phone call and would set the “appointment” near where it was convenient for the patient. The places were always different: The library, a restaurant, the patient’s home, etc. David would take the bus, meet them, determine if they met the criteria set forth by the Department of Health and by the guidelines implemented by the doctor he was working with. Over the next couple of years, David got more and more people to help, saved enough to buy a bike to get around more efficiently and then was able to get an office space next to a dispensary. That was the 1st big brake David had and it wouldn’t be his last. He was able to help even more people and expand his services. With his past experience and knowledge, he was able to utilize and create an organization built on the foundation of helping his fellow man.
